On July 8, 2026, at 1:30 PM, the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) Orientation for School Year 2026–2027 was successfully conducted at the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES) Covered Court. The activity was attended by parents, volunteers, teachers, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and ensure the effective implementation of the program. During the orientation, the School Nurse discussed the Rationale, Scope, Responsibilities, Health nutrition and food safety, monitoring and evaluation of the School-Based Feeding Program. The rationale emphasized the importance of providing nutritious meals to improve the nutritional status, health, school attendance, and academic performance of learners. The scope of the program, including the selection of beneficiaries, feeding procedures, monitoring, and evaluation, was also explained. Furthermore, the roles and responsibilities of parents, volunteers, teachers, and school personnel were clearly presented to ensure the successful implementation of the feeding program. For School Year 2026–2027, the school has a total of 507 feeding beneficiaries, composed of 36 wasted learners, 7 severely stunted learners, and 77 stunted learners. There are no severely wasted learners identified. In accordance with the Department of Education guidelines, all Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners are also included as beneficiaries of the School-Based Feeding Program. The activity strengthened the commitment of the school and its stakeholders to work together in promoting the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of every learner through the successful implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program.   – SBFP School Coordinator
